Ricsi Roo Publishing – Submission Guidelines

At Ricsi Roo, we believe every animal’s story matters—and we’re honored that you’re considering sharing yours. Whether you’re writing a children’s book, a poem, an essay, or a full‑length novel, these guidelines will help you prepare your work for submission.

✨ Who Can Submit
 

We welcome submissions from:
 

  • Pet lovers of all ages

  • Veterinary professionals and organizations

  • Rescue groups, shelters, and sanctuaries

  • Schools (especially writing, art, and drawing programs)

  • Rehabilitation centers and blood banks

  • Anyone with a heartfelt story to tell
     

Your work may be written in English, and if you wish, you may also include a version in another language of your choice to reach readers within your own culture or community. Love knows no language barriers - understanding lives in the hearts of those open to receive it.
 

📚 What You Can Submit
 

We accept a wide range of original, animal‑centered works, including:
 

  • Short stories

  • Children’s picture books

  • Poems and lyrical pieces

  • Essays and personal reflections

  • Anthologies

  • Novels

  • Original artwork (digital or hand‑drawn, submitted as PNG files)
     

All submissions must be your own original work and must not infringe on any existing stories, pets or people's likeness, characters, or artwork.
 

🎨 Artwork Requirements
 

For children’s books:
 

  • Artwork must be landscape orientation

  • Images must be submitted as PNG files

  • No photographs of animals, children, or people

  • AI‑generated artwork is welcome as long as it is original and created specifically for your story

  • Hand‑drawn or digitally illustrated art is also welcome
     

Required artwork includes:
 

  • Front cover

  • Back cover

  • Interior illustrations (enough to support a minimum of 32 internal pages)

  • Optional artwork for the About the Author page
     

📝 Manuscript Requirements
 
Children’s Books
 
  • Typically 300–600 words, though longer stories are welcome

  • Must include:

    • Title page

    • Story text

    • About the Author page
       

Novels & Longer Works
 
  • No minimum or maximum word count

  • Manuscripts should be formatted in a clean, readable font (e.g., Times New Roman or Arial)

  • Double‑spaced is preferred

  • Include chapter headings where appropriate
     

General Formatting
 
  • Submit manuscripts as Word documents (.docx) or Google Docs links

  • Include your name, email, and a short author bio

  • If submitting artwork, include a folder or ZIP file with labeled PNGs
     

💛 Rights & Originality
 

By submitting, you confirm that:
 

  • The story and artwork are entirely your own

  • You hold full rights to the material

  • No copyrighted characters, images, deep fakes, or text are used

  • No photographs of real animals or people are included
     

Ricsi Roo publishes works that honor animals with compassion, creativity, and respect. We reserve the right to decline submissions that do not align with our mission or quality standards.
 

📦 Compensation & Complimentary Copies
 

Ricsi Roo operates with love, not large margins. Because custom on‑demand publishing has high production and fulfillment costs, we are unable to offer payment for manuscripts.
 

However:
 

  • Every author receives a complimentary copy of their finished book as a keepsake.

  • For veterinary organizations, rescue organizations, schools, and similar groups: $1.00 per book sold during the first ninety (90) days after publication will be donated to the author or directed to a recipient of their choice.

  • Your manuscript

  • Your artwork

  • Your author bio

  • Contact information
     

Then send your submission to us through the contact form on our website or via the email address provided there.
